About IncDNA-BF

Amphioxus (Branchiostoma floridae) is a promising animal model in evolutionary understanding of organ development from a view of invertebrate-vertebrate transition. Unfortunately, current Amphioxus genomes are not good enough to support reliable -omics research, in particular, help assemble high quality transcriptome. Therefore, we constructed an integrative cDNA library from heterogenous RNA-seq datasets and EST data. Transcriptome assembled by referring to this library show superior to that by genome-based or de novo methods. In summary, the integrative cDNA library can be a practical solution in replace of genome for large scale -omics studies. It will be particularly useful for systematic and dynamic exploration of gene behavior, regardless of the genome quality.
